The Oscar-nominated smash Babe was a gentle bedtime story about a misfit, but its sequel is about a revolutionary. In Babe: Pig In The City, our hero, an adorable, kind-hearted piglet, is on a mission to save the farm from the bank. Both Babe and the farmer's wife, a delightfully ditzy and determined Magda Szubanski, take a trip to win a contest, but their plan falls apart the moment their plane touches down.
Babe: Pig In The City would have made the Grimm Brothers proud: it is full of wonder and terror, a dark tale about innocence and immigration in a fantastical metropolis that visually collapses all great cities into one chaotic concrete jungle. Mad Max's creator, George Miller, directs with inspired madcap energy. The movie celebrates kindness in the shadow of cruelty. Babe leads a house full of cats, dogs, and monkeys to freedom, but it's a scary journey.
