Oscar-winner Viola Davis is an excellent action movie star, not just because she has biceps and knows how to punch and hold a gun. Davis is very good at these roles because she has an excellent Resting Badass Face, as all action stars must. That face serves righteous fury and intense determination. And Davis is both those things, as well as a loving wife, mother, and President of the United States in the hokey one-woman-against-an-army-of-terrorists thriller G20, which rips off Die Hard rip-off Air Force One, starring Harrison Ford as President Get Off My Plane.
G20 is very now: deepfakes, crypto, and white rage are all part of the evil plot to force the world's leaders to, oh, I forget. Davis is President Sutton, a veteran, tough but fair. The First Gentleman is a winning Anthony Anderson, who is no slouch, but it's up to Davis to save the day.
