150 Word Review: 'One Of Them Days' (2025)
With friends like these...
Dreux and Alyssa are roommates who have eight hours to pay the rent, or they're out on the mean, sunny streets of South Central L.A. in One Of Them Days, a chaotic buddy comedy about struggle and friendship loosely inspired by the 90s stoner classic Friday, starring Ice Cube and Chris Tucker.
Directed by Lawrence Lamont, One of Those Days is a welcome feel-good romp that is both ridiculous and grounded, realistic and surreal. It's a movie that throws everything at the wall, and much of it sticks: sight gags, slapstick, wordplay, savage political zingers, and genital jokes.
Keke Palmer and SZA are a perfect duo, a pair of fabulous, lovable clowns who can play it straight and zany. They're backed up by an equally hilarious cast, including Maude Apatow as a ditzy gentrifier, the great Katt Williams as a wise hobo, and Aziza Scott as an unstoppable twerking terminator.
