What if I told you there was a movie that had it all? Stunts. Songs. Romance. Tiger fights. A daring rescue. And what if I told you that the movie has a runtime of three hours and seven minutes and if you look away just once, you’ll miss nonstop flying bullets and slow-motion punches and waterfalls of tears?
Directed by S. S. Rajamouli, RRR is a breathless and bloody superhero historical fantasy action movie inspired by a pair of real-life freedom fighters who fought the British Empire in the 1920s. It is the most expensive Indian movie ever made and it shows. The SFX are outstanding.
But without the charisma of stars Ram Charan and N.T. Rama Rao Jr. as besties forever Ram and Bheem, RRR would feel… empty. Both actors are loaded with gunpowder. Oh, and Hollywood actor Ray Stevenson shows up as an evil cigar-chomping Englishman. RRR roars.
In addition RRR won the Oscar for best song. A jaw-dropping spectacle that leaves no stone unturned in special effects, extraordinary fight scenes, and sheer bravura.
