Strange Darling is about a day (and night) in the life of a serial killer and I'll write no more about writer/director J.T. Mollner's bloody, sexy, nonlinear thriller. Okay, well, one more thing: casual sex has never looked as good, nor gone as badly, as the kinky hookup between Willa Fitzgerald, as 'The Lady,' and Kyle Gallner, as 'The Demon.' She is sly and seductive, he is mustachioed and earnest. And that's all I'll write about Strange Darling, a refreshing take on a life-or-death game of good old fashioned cat and mouse.
Barbara Hershey and Ed Begley Jr. are hippies who love a big breakfast, but that's all I'll write about them. (It's nice to see both.) Also, actor Giovanni Ribisi is the cinematographer. Who knew? The colors are sharp, whether it's dawn or midnight. Fitzgerald wrecks as a new kind of final girl. Now shush. Not another word.
