Terrifier 3's infamous gore reminded me of dinner at Olive Garden: overwhelming portions smothered in cheese, but instead of cheese, it's blood and guts. This splatter porn knows what it is: confident dreck designed to shock normies. The plot? Sienna and her brother are stalked by Art the Clown again, but only this time, Ronald McMurder is dressed up like Santa. But the slaughter's the thing.
Writer/director Damien Leone isn't just inspired by 80's slasher pics, he wallows in the genre's shallow, crude excesses.
The violence in Terrifier 3 crescendos—it's unbearable. Skulls are flayed. Genitals mutilated. Oh God, rats! Do not see this movie. But if you do, you'll be rewarded by David Howard Thornton serving nightmare face as Art the Clown, whose greatest crime is loving his work. Lauren LaVera suffers nobly as Sienna (the Christ imagery was refreshingly pretentious.) I was numb before Art gets his.
Just saw the first one recently and couldn’t stop watching even though I had to look away a few times. I was mesmerized in all the wrong ways. Might even check out the sequels. Don’t know what it says about me. lol
