150 Word Review: 'The Naked Gun' (2025)
How hot and wet do you like it?
My favorite bit from 1988’s The Naked Gun was the stuffed beaver, a double entendre that my kid brain didn’t understand.
But it didn't matter because I laughed anyway. A stuffed beaver? Random and absurd!
The Naked Gun remake, also named The Naked Gun, is faithful to the original, a dizzying 90 minutes of clever one-liners and crude sight gags and vice versa. There are genital jokes and corny puns and a threesome with an evil snowman. Oscar-winning action star Liam Neeson steps into the late Leslie Nielsen's loafers as Frank Drebin, Jr. Like Nielsen, Neeson doesn't crack a smile. Both men were serious actors before ruining their careers with comedy. And thank God they did. The cast is in on the joke, especially Pamela Anderson, who has incredible chemistry with Neeson. They're both beautiful dumbasses. Everyone is made fun of in The Naked Gun: cops, tech bros, little girls.
