I have watched the original Dune waaayyy too many times, also because it was released during my formative years, and because it had Sting. And just… the dog. What kind of drugs do you need to be on as a director to think, “Patrick Stewart should go into battle carrying a pug.”
Regarding you watching the 1985 version when you were 10, I think it’s probably a good thing my parents didn’t let me see movies unless they were approved by the Catholic Church when I was 10.
The problem for me seeing Dune Part 2, it took so long for it to come out, I completely forgot who the characters are, so now I have to watch Dune all over again but I’m probably the only person who did not find it very appealing.
Same fictional universe, way different results. Sometimes the director makes all the difference...
