Matewan is so underrated, it deserves to be regarded as a true classic. I couldn't believe it was Chris Cooper's first film role, he was so confident and commanding. I'm due for a rewatch especially in light of James Earl Jones' passing - he's wonderful in this, if maybe a bit underutilized.
it is SO good and not streaming anywhere. you could have made an entire movie about jones' character and though he's not in it as much as i'd prefer, he sure is memorable every second he's on screen
thanks for the question rob not all planets with rings are saturn, bot neptune and uranus have rings for instance so the planet we see in the netherworld's forbidden zone probably isn't saturn, or perhaps is an alternate reality saturn, who can say especially when we're talking about an extradimensional plane that exists outside the afterlife, a topsy-turvy mix of dune and loony tunes, a sort of salvador dali's arizona. the rules of that realm are beyond mortal understanding -- perhaps that ringed planet is corpse floating in the sky. this is 93 words

Now do 150 words on why the planet Saturn is part of the afterlife!

And here I thought it was because the dead exist outside of time and “Saturn” is the Roman god of time.
U could be right too.
I couldn’t agree more
