The only thing that bothered me right off (even as a kid and this is horrible), is the Cyclops’s death wasn’t painful enough. The legend was that if a cyclops avoided his pre-determined death his “real” death would be horrible and painful. Then, he just got crushed saving his friends. I always wondered whether the fact that he just got crushed trickled out to the other cyclopses and how many said, “That’s not that bad.”
It was, like, a central question of my childhood. I determined that if I knew for a fact that I could avoid death today by risking a crushing and being a hero later on I definitely would.
Well done. This 1976 born dad, just introduced Krull to his 3 sons and 1 daughter. I, like you, was compelled to teach life lessons of integrity, purpose, and risk to my future alien-battling swashbucklers. Thank you for this.
I saw Krull in the theater when I was nine. Stayed for a second showing it was that good.
Spoiler alert: I cried when the Cyclops died. I will eat a Fig Newton in his honor.

Well, I never saw it or even heard about that movie.
But your ability to develop life goals from seeing it when you were nine years old is quite impressive.
Get well soon. (Covid is no fun.)
One of dozens of weird SF movies in Hollywood history.

krull 4 ever
Saw it in theaters! Dug it. I was sad when the Glaive didn’t come back, that was a cool weapon. No lightsaber, as you say, but still pretty cool.
Wow, was not expecting to be so moved by a movie I’ve only heard referenced on an episode of “Family Guy.” Bravo!
I'm just over 40 and had so many chances to watch this film... Chances I let slide by me out into the eververse
