I just rewatched Mulholland Drive last night(coincidentally). What an amazing confusing sexy scary monster of a great cinematic achievement. So many questions, but the pink paint was awesome. Okay what about Adam’s wife? No clue
I love Mulholland Drive in like, the least pretentious way possible I think. It’s just the first movie I can remember that REALLY fucked with me, and brings back memories of living in the art dorm at my college, doing things like hauling a tiny couch up to the top of the theater building stairs and hanging out all night, putting a Nintendo station on the roof, etc. I watched it and thought “fuck this movie! Let’s watch it again!” and I’ve never quite gotten out of that cycle. If it’s the last movie I ever watch, I’ll still say “fuck this movie!” at the end, bc I’ll never be happy with the ending, but also never annoyed enough to not watch it again.
Yes. In the DVD he included this little "list of clues" to understanding it...and it only confused me more. But it's the only confusing movie that made me want to keep returning to it, because it was so beautiful and, like you said, I saw myself in it...which I also still haven't figured out!
