Hello! I got married yesterday to a beautiful, funny, brilliant woman. We danced, ate ice cream sandwiches, and watched Manhattan twinkle in the distance.
This is my way of saying I'm taking a few weeks off from this newsletter, which started as an experiment and has been slowly growing into something bigger, something I love.
I'll spend this time post-wedding in the Catskills, building fires, eating hot dogs, and lying in bed with Ryan and our one-eyed senior dog, Morley. (We are not watching any movies, but we are watching the incredibly well-cast legal thriller miniseries Presumed Innocent on Apple. Not bad! Don’t cheat!)
When I return, I will continue writing free '150 Word Reviews,' (I have yet to see That Marvel Movie, and I’m psyched for M. Night Shyamalan’s Trap.)
But here’s some soft news: I'm considering putting all the essays behind the paywall and an unnamed pop culture quiz I'm tinkering with.
As always, you can donate to 150 Word Reviews if you are so moved, but let me know in the comments or reply to this editor’s note what you think about a paywall. I would love to write more for this newsletter, which would require more financial support. Please think it over, and let me know what you think.
I want to officially say hi to new subscribers, too—thanks for signing up. You’re invited to reply to this newsletter anytime. I will enclose a few reviews and essays that I enjoy and that you may not have read.

Grief. Friendship. Jazz hands. My debut memoir, ‘Theatre Kids,’ is now available. You can order it at Amazon or Barnes & Noble or you can support your local independent bookstore, instead. Look how happy I am (don’t worry, I’m dead inside.)
Mazel tov to all three of you! (I'm including Morley Safer, who is finally a legitimate child.)
Congratulations to you all! This has been a banner year for you. A book, a wedding, the works. 🙌
